Fabergé eggs are jeweled egg shaped structures, created by
the House of Fabergé, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Virtually all were
manufactured under the supervision of Peter Carl Fabergé between 1885 and 1917.
They were primarily made for the Russian Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II as
Easter gifts for their wives and mothers. I visited the Faberge museum this summer with my dear dear
friend who turned 90 this month. So this cake was for her birthday party in memory of a
fabulous visit to St Petersburg. It was a huge cake that weighed at least 30
pounds. It took me close to 40
hours to make it. The birthday
girl loved it and bragged to her friends about me as the cake artist. God Bless
you dear friend.
The bottom cushion was a carrot nut cake with cream cheese
filling and the top two layers were almond with marzipan cannoli filling.
AMAZING! I should never be surprised though - your cakes are ALWAYS so amazing and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Pops! You can bake everything and anything into a cake!! Only problem is how does one cut into and eat that work of art!!
ReplyDeleteThe cake was even more exquisite than these pictures and almost stole the show at the party!
ReplyDeleteRe: Noshe's comment of "how does one cut into and eat that work of art", your heart misses a few beats doing it BUT... once you taste it you get ENTHUSIASTIC about chopping it up and munching away. All the layers were moist and ooooooh soooo YUMMY.
Neelam, THANK YOU EVER SOOOO MUCH. I don't think anyone, however RICH and whatever their age, had such an EXQUISITE cake for their celebration.
LOVE YOU & BLESS YOU for all your generosity, caring & especially your LOVE!!!!!!!
